Church of Our Saviour provides space for several programs related to health and wellness. These are run by outside groups and members of the parish. Please contact our Parish Life Director with any questions about these programs. Some programming may be effected by COVID-19 restrictions. Please check the home page for more specific information.
“Although yoga was developed in ancient India, people of all faiths have found that this body-centered meditation is a great way to improve health, open the heart, and deepen your spirituality.”--Darren Main, author and yoga teacher. Classes at COS, led by parishioner and certified yoga teacher Gary Alexander, are usually held right in the beautiful nave of the church on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. The suggested donation is $12. However, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Please contact the office for more information.
This ancient form of internal martial arts is practiced for many reasons including focus, mental well-being, meditation and internal balance. COS hosts Tai Chi classes each week on Wednesday mornings at 9am (arrive anytime). No equipment is needed, but do wear comfortable clothes and lightweight/flat soled shoes are recommended. Classes cost $10 each or three months for $100, Questions and class fee can be directed to Daniel Thatcher, the class instructor.
COS hosts two AA groups each week, one on Monday evenings at 6:00pm and one on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. The meetings are held in the lower level of the parish hall in the middle room.
